Historic Cake Table with Nationalmuseet

For this year’s Roskilde Festival, the National Museum of Denmark invited to get a taste of Denmark’s history by the example of cakes. As cakes are luxury foods, they were usually the first ones affected by economic development of the country and thus tell a lot about the different epoches of Denmark. A culinary exploration from heavy cream and marcipan for the royal baroque years all the way to the iconic, simple “citronmåne” for when women started working and didn’t have time for complicated cake recipes any longer.

The same event was repeated during Copenhagen Cooking festival in the beautiful ballroom of Nationalmuseet.
